When Philip Morris Studied Children at the University of Geneva
In the 1990s, Philip Morris funded a psychology professor at the University of Geneva to study children’s and adolescents’ attitudes toward cigarettes.
These funding efforts served several objectives:
- an economic objective linked to marketing and understanding future consumers;
- and a political and strategic objective aimed at strengthening the company’s image and reputation.
