The environmental issues associated with tobacco products are not limited to cigarette butt litter, but extend to the entire production chain, from tobacco cultivation to the final consumption of the products. The tobacco industry is therefore responsible for the proven environmental damage caused by these products and their manufacture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cLara Green\u201d campaign, launched in 2021 by the Swiss Cigarette Association (which brings together the Swiss subsidiaries of British American Tobacco Switzerland, Japan Tobacco International, and Philip Morris International), attempts to give a greener and more environmentally friendly image to a polluting industry, but it is in fact a strategy aimed at shifting responsibility from manufacturers to smokers and collecting thousands of pieces of data, the use of which is still unknown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Transparency and Truth” initiative is implemented by OxySuisse on behalf of the Tobacco Prevention Fund.
